Three Wishes Blog Blitz : Three Lives

Today I’m participating in the Three Wishes Blog Blitz, hosted by author Juliet Madison! From 2nd to 6th September you’ll have the chance to win some awesome prizes at all the blogs participating in the blitz, including mine. All you have to do is follow my instructions below for winning the prize I have on offer, and then you can click over to Juliet’s blog to enter her prize draw, and see the list of all other blogs taking part and enter their giveaways as well. How cool is that? Why is it called the Three Wishes Blog Blitz? Juliet’s new romantic comedy release, I Dream of Johnny, is about three wishes, a high-tech genie in a lamp, and one very unfortunate typo that proves magic isn’t all it’s cracked up to be…

On the theme of Three Wishes, my post is about three lives.

Everyone knows a cat has nine lives. Or so they say. But what if we all had a chance to live three separate lives? What if we could pick those lives and a particular character to live that life? Doesn’t that thought just blow your mind.

And that concept is what I’m going with today.

First up – what else? But a Star Pirate – I mean, how awesome is that! Ever since Star Wars and Hans Solo burst onto the silver screen, my imagination has been fired with fantasies of sailing the stars and wrecking havoc in other galaxies. Fed by a steady diet of Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Stargate, Lost in Space, Dr Who, Pitch Black and Firefly (you get the picture!) my mind was made up. I wanted to be out there, dancing to that alien beat in an alien disco bar, saving the planet with my light saber, zipping through space dust and dodging asteroids and exploring unknown universes.

I’d have my own space ship. Needless to say this baby will really know how to out-fly anything and everything any dumb alien could invent.

Problem is – I can’t decide who to have as my co-pilot / space bunny. Or maybe it would be more useful to have a space mech on board (I can barely hammer in a nail). I mean how can I possibly choose between Vin Diesel (and that glorious deep voice of his not to mention those shoulders) and Johnny Depp (with his sinfully mischievous dark eyes and quirky character)? Way too hard a decision.

Stuff it – I’ll take both! Any other passengers?

If I could choose a second life – now here is where it gets a wee, bit tricky. I’d love to run the world how I believe it should be run, so I’m leaning towards a dictator-type Dalai Lama. No cruelty towards animals, no eating of flesh (so any zombies out there are in trouble), love and respect towards all humankind and our beautiful UNIQUE AND ONLY Earth etc etc. So I’d have no wars, no starvation, no poverty, no strife, no crime and no petty jealousy. Peace in our time – glorious.

I’m also leaning towards a whole-lotta-love (think love fest) and I really think I’m going to have to include Vin baby and Johnny baby here just to keep me on track.

But hold on a sec! Unless my army of peace keepers (wielding blocks of chocolate rather than sporting guns) can distribute zillions of condoms it’ll be standing room only. So we’ll build space Arks and head off to search for other Earth-type planets. Maybe I’ll get rid of pesky dissidents and money-grubbers that way.

And lastly, this is a hard one. My life clock is ticking and my time is running out. My final wish is for a life as a female Doctor Who. And the first dialing of my Tardis would be… one hundred years into the future. Let’s hope mankind will survive.

So, what would you wish for if you had three wishes?

If you’d like to go in the draw for a giveaway, bare all on your three wishes in the comment section below. Competition closes at 12pm Friday 6th September (though if a few late entries creep in I’m sure that’ll be okay).

And since it’s all about the magic number ‘three’, three winners will be randomly chosen to pick their choice of three of my e-books (from Amazon) plus (if located in Australia) a copy of either JD Robb’s New York to Dallas or Jilted by Rachael Johns or an autographed copy of Getting Even with Fran by Christine Stinson. For any international winners, a $10 Amazon gift voucher will be substituted in lieu of the paperback choice.

Once you’ve entered my giveaway, visit Juliet’s blog & enter her giveaway too, and visit any or all of the other participating blogs to enter more prize draws. You could potentially win a whole heap of prizes! Good luck!
